We are delighted to exhibit our Arquitecturas Vase at the Vitra Space in the 2013 Salon in Milan where our ceramic piece will be exhibited .

We are delighted to take part in the Vitra Space in the 2012 Salon in Milan where our Pussel and Spaghetti Western will be exhibited in the Citerrio and Bouroullec spaces.

The Dinner at Museu Picasso

This was a workshop facilitated by Apparatu for the museum Picasso in Barcelona. With participants from different backgrounds the workshop was an introduction to ceramics in connection with food – each participant had to create his own plate for the final dinner.

Continuing with the theme of food, apparatus facilitated the workshop for the university in the Philippines in association with the Manila office of culture and design. Coinciding with the christmas period, a christmas eve menu was design in ceramic, which we made into an installation in the OCD gallery in Manila.

Kouichi Okamoto visited us in Barcelona to start working on our collaborative project about glasses. As a result of this we had the chance to exhibit our personal projects and the beginnings of our collaboration at the amazing gallery Otrascosas in Barcelona.

The “Skate fails” have been selected for the spainalight exhibition in Tokyo, an exhibition about contemporary spanish design curated by Stone design.

REDaede in the Brandery

Apparatu design and curate the exhibition of RED (the Spanish design companies association)for the fashion fair in Barcelona, the Brandery. The space was designed through an installation with 60 ceramic stools representing the logo from the association, and exhibiting some of the products from different design companies in the association like Marset, Sant & cole, Nani Marquina, BD Barcelona…

Martí Guixé + Alessi

Martí Guixé commissioned us to produce columns turned on a lathe by hand for the new showroom of Alessi in Milan. 6 Columns (1,50m) which sustained the structure of a large piece of furniture in the centre of the space.

This was a workshop facilitated by Apparatu for the Santa Monica centre of art in the island of Grand Canary. With participants from multiple disciplines, different processes were experimented with using ceramic with stone during the week.

After the presentation of Pleat Box in Milan, Marset invited us to design a new installation in their showroom in Barcelona exhibiting a grey, white and gold terracotta lamp in four sizes.

Vitra stand MDW2011

Apparatu will be featured in the Vitra stand during Milan Design Week 2011.

Kouichi Okamoto visited us in Barcelona to start working on our collaborative project about glasses. As a result of this we had the chance to exhibit our personal projects and the beginnings of our collaboration at the amazing gallery Otrascosas in Barcelona.

We present our latest collection of ceramic pieces designed with Alex Trochut Vol. 3 is a collection of impossible skates, which undo themselves, leak and slide through the ceramic.

Apparatu has created Totem, a sculpture for Nike in honour of hoddie. Which was exhibited on the 17th of November in El Poble Espanyol of Barcelona at the event More then run organized by Santa Marta. The totem is the emblem of the tribe, and object which marks the origin of the group. The origins of Hoddie with its horizontal totem.

Apparatu has been invited to exhibit at the biennial French exhibition this year, where you will be able to see our latest projects Das Bluhen and Arquitecturas.

Apparatu visits Japan again in preparation for future projects with the country of the rising sun, completing its next collaboration with Kyouei design.

RED, the association of Spanish design firms asked us to create an installation for the exhibition La selección española de diseño en México inaugurated in October at the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City.

Camper
2010 workshop

This last summer Camper invited us to create an exercise for the designers in their 2010 workshop. The theme of the year was crafts. We developed a workshop using the idea of footprints, working with ceramics, shoes and Mallorca’s nature.

The Spirit of Spain wil be a lively panel and discussion on Spanish product design, featuring presentations by Spanish product designers, Xavier Mañosa, Luis Eslava, Jordi Mila, Mario Ruiz and graphic designer Javier Gutierrez. 2.00–3.00pm ICFF Theater Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York City.

New York 2010
Noho Design District

Apparatu will be showing his latest project togheter with the awesome Alex Trochut.

The exhibition in partnership with Style Factory and Wabnitz Editions, the Noho Design District introduces its first annual emerging talent showcase: Noho Next, featuring the work of nine up-and-coming designers under one roof. Noho Next 350 Bowery.

Apparatu will be explaining his experience as a artisan ceramic workshop, design studio and familiar company at the ADI-FAD.

The making of is a series of conferences to promote the public recognition of remarkable products for his innovative character, for his conceptual renovation or his quality of production.

Apparatu and the designer Alex Trochut will showed at the gallery Otras cosas de Villarrosas in Barcelona his latest project togheter.

They have spontaneously come together to create a series of the most unusual collections. Ceramic cocktail-themed floats from around the world, and vases inspired by the world’s ugliest jacket ever designed.

Apparatu will be in Tokyo next October for the design week, giving conferences and exhibiting in the design Spanish exhibition curated by the studio Mormedi. More than an exhibition, is a celebration of the best Spanish design in Tokyo.

Designer’s week that encompasses not only this exhibition, but also conferences and seminars; a forum that provides with an exceptional opportunity to get to know at first hand those who are behind the products.

Creative innovation in Spain

Apparatu was invited by the ministry of science and technology to explain his work with Mashallah design at the Cervantes intitute in Berlin in the event Creative innovation in Spain, is a series of events organised by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology and the Cervantes Institute in order to celebrate the European year of creativity and innovation in 2009.

The meetings will take place in five European cities and will present Spanish innovations resulting from inter-disciplinary collaboration among artists, creative individuals, researchers, technologistsand businessmen.

Apparatu will show his latest project with Mashalla design the Super fax series at the 100% Design London. This booklet gathers the work of 9 Spanish designers, to be shown at 100% Design in London. The chosen few are young talented people and, in many cases, broadly experienced. But, why did we chose 9 and not 16?

Well… to be honest, the exhibition space we had at disposal was limited. Yes, indeed, this year will be remembered by the recession. But also 9 was the number because year 2009 will close a decade.

Super fax series

Apparatu & Mashallah design are working togheter. After visiting each other in their work surrounding it was clear that both studios had absolutely different design approaches. Apparatu building his objects analog with his hands and Mashallah working and sculpting only digital. It was decided to keep it that way.

All the information and communication that was produced during 2 months was send via fax. The digital data could be send to the fax and printed out analog on the other side analog data was send back and viewed digitally. Sketches, photos and even blueprints with construction manuals were send to each other until the final designs were build.

In conjunction with the designer Guillem Ferran, Xavier Mañosa was invited by the university Javeriana of Bogota to give a workshop on handicrafts applied to design and architecture.

Over a period of two weeks, they explored the present and future possibilities of handicrafts (moving between Barichara and Bogota).

For the third time, leading Polish and foreign designers will meet during the Łódź Design 2009 festival.
The aim of the festival, which is to take place between the 15th and the 31st of October in Łódź, is to review global trends and to present many aspects of design, including industrial design, graphics, architecture and fashion.

Where Apparatu will exhibit a part of his work and show the results of the workshop Surtido de revolución.

Design week Milan 2009

Apparatu & Mashallah Design at Salone Satellite Milan. Design Week 2009.

As part of the cultural program of the 100% Design Tokyo 2008 (October 30 / November 03) Designboom will host a group exhibition of international design professionals from around the world. Now in it’s 4th year the Tokyo mart will, once again provide an unprecedented opportunity to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar with their work. Visitors are able to buy design souvenirs and limited edition pieces directly from the designers themselves.

Surtido de revolución

Was a workshop organized by Surtido and apparatu 20 studios from surtido designed 20 vases under the direction of Xavier Mañosa, in his workshop. There was no specific theme, just to innovate and experiment, always starting from shapes on the potter’s wheel.

The Injuve award strives to support new artists with the aim of encouraging new creative activity in order to assist the distribution and promotion of their work. Apparatu has been selected for this exhibition.

Talents Messe Frankfurt provides free exhibition space for young designers at the Talents special show where they can present their designs and prototypes to an international audience of experts.

The 20th annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair New York City’s Jacob K.Javits Convention Center into a worldwide wonder for design disciplies. Designmart as part of the cultural program of the ICFF, (the largest design event in the USA) DesignBoom will host a group exhibition of international design professionals from around the world.

Now in it’s fourth year the new york mart will, once again provide an unprecedented opportunity to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar with their work.

Surtido en Motel is the first exhibition of Surtido and puts together 7 young studios who will show their lastest projects: Causas Externas, Cristina Toledo, Enblanc, Guillem Ferran, Marc Ligos, Marina 68 and Xavier Mañosa.

As part of the cultural program of the Stockholm Furniture Fair, DesignBoom will host a group exhibition of international design professionals from around the world. For the first time in Sweden, designboom provide an unprecedented opportunity to meet the young avant-garde and become familiar with their work.

Apparatu is exhibiting two vases el cono and el pissarro in the last contemporary ceramic exhibition Handled with care as part of the London Design Festival an exhibition of contemporary ceramic wares from established and upcoming international designers.

Since their origin ceramic works have expanded the functional dimension and contemporary production engenders ornamentation, sculpture and installation.
